ToK Structure & Overview

This lesson is designed to be taught early in a ToK Course to G11 / DP1 / Y12 students. It is very much an introductory lesson designed to introduce students to the structure of ToK. It is primarily aimed at students who may find it difficult to access the structure of ToK.

Intentions:

  • Students understand the structure of ToK.
  • Students are starting to use the language of ToK.

1. Start by explaining AoK, WoK and Shared / Personal Knowledge. You could use this Slideshow if wish.

2. Move onto this Where’s the ToK ? exercise (click link).

This lesson is, obviously, starting from quite a low knowledge base, and should be used in conjunction with Why Study ToK ? lesson.

Both the slideshow and the Where’s the ToK ? exercise can be extended by the teacher in order to adjust to a class’s motivation, ability etc.
